About Me

I am a Clinical Psychologist licensed in the state of California. I received my Doctorate degree from Seattle Pacific University (accredited by the American Psychological Association) and my Bachelor's degree from the University of Washington. I completed my Post-Doctoral Residency at Kaiser Permanente Psychiatry Department in Fremont, California. In addition to my private practice, I currently work at Kaiser Permanente in the Department of Behavioral Medicine in Union City, California.

My theoretical approach to therapy is integrative, meaning I use a variety of techniques and theories. I am trained and rely heavily on Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I am flexible in my approach based on your unique needs and goals. My style is compassionate, interactive, and collaborative. You can expect me to listen supportively at times or ask questions or offer suggestions and homework at other times. Therapy is an active process and I enjoy collaborating with each client as a team to reach the goals we have agreed upon.

I am currently working on a book, with co-author Elizabeth McMahon, PhD and illustrated by Ann Daugherty entitled: Overcoming Panic and Anxiety Attacks in 5 Steps: How You and Your Caveman Brain can Live Happily Together in Today's Modern World. We are very excited about this project.

I am a member of the American Psychological Association (APA), the California Psychological Association (CPA) and the National Register of Health Service Psychologists.
